Tina if hope your proud of your efforts because these are fantasic!

Agreed, especially that 2nd shot. That really deserves to be printed out on a 10" x 12" and framed.

these are great pictrues... I've got to show these to my youngest daughter.. she loves dragonflies. :)

I took this photo with a S2IS this summer, in Croatia. It might not be the perfect photo, but i like it, and i like to share it with you.

laurmorun, what are you post processing skills like? If you crop and enhance, it will come out heaps better.

Catsith - from your Exif I can see you shot in Manual mode. I have a 400D also - did the Manual mode make it easier for you. All great shots by the way!!

scrumpy, i nearly always shoot in "m", because i can then control both the aperture and speed. I check my shot with the histogram, and then change one or the other or both accordingly. It has become so ingrained, i often forget i have other options!, so yes, i find it easy, and less frustrating if the camera chooses a too slow a speed or whatever if i shoot in av or tv. On the other hand, it can also mean more shooting to get the right settings, that could have been got quickest in the other modes when the camera chooses right.

thankyou to those i haven't thanked yet!

Amazing photos with amazing clarity and detail. Just staring at the details in the wings is spellbinding. Wonderful captures.
