I live in Milton, Ontario, Canada, population around 60,000. I just got a 70-200 2.8 two days ago, and it's been damn cloudy EVERY day since, and is forecasted to be for at least another week. (Not to mention hovering around 1C which isn't THAT bad, but doesn't make standing around outside any more comfortable.)

I've shot our puppy in the backyard running around enough, I've shot our horse also running around enough, I've driven around the farms and scenery in our area and that's just boring, ESPECIALLY on these super overcast days.

I wanna find some good action to shoot, so I wanted to go to the Standardbred racetrack near us, but nooooo it's shut down for another month!

So I'm pretty much screwed so far, where do you guys find action-y subjects, any suggestions?

Thanks :)

how about some wildlife? go shoot some urban city shots. Candids are always fun. And in a city like Ontario you could find all kinds of interesting things.

First, bright cloudy is a GOOD thing. Some of the best shooting is under these conditions.

Find your closest sport track and get some Snowmobile races stuff. Local Snowboarding events, sking, etc.

Good call on the snowboard/skiing, I hadn't thought of that yet and we live close to a resort, but I just checked their site,we haven't had enough snow yet for anything of the slopes or trails to be opened yet!

Local high school is a great place. Lots of various winter sports activities like basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, wrestling is among the biggies. Nice thing about H.S. is that many times your local paper will pick up pics and you can make a few shekels on the side.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
