I captured this fruit around Hallowe'en.

No the fruit was perfect as I ate it just after the shot. I did a partial desaturation to give the grey look.

You cut it (gasp - lol). I think it would look cool pulled apart so the bits (cells? sacs? what ARE they called?) are left intact.

I guess if gruesome is what you were after though, cutting was better...and the grey too. They are such a lovely color naturally though. ;)

You may be right. All the pomegrates I have seen in Ireland over the years have skins the colour of onions. I don't know where our ones are grown but they don't look as good as yours.
