With the year nearly over, its time to look back and reflect on the year. Lets see everyone's three photos you are most proud of and why :) I will start

This shot was one of my first with my newly acquired 300 F/2.8L IS back in August, having my pretty wife in it does not hurt either

IMAGE: http://calicokat.smugmug.com/photos/94193278-M-2.jpg

anyone who knows me here, knows that I love taking pics of birds in flight, I was very happy with this one, I had to wait for what seemed hours to get the right fly by (I know, the darn dust spot, I will clone it out someday) but hiking and taking pics of these guys is what i love to do, wish i could just do that sometimes

and finally this one from a luau in Maui, I was proud of the shot because of its difficulty taking it (hand-holding a 70-200 at 1/8th) and the fact that it is now on the brochure cover for this luau

Cool idea for a thread calico. Being how its always been a dream to let alone visit but to be able to photograph Yosemite and Sequoia NP's the past June was an accomplishment I felt and hope to do again someday not far off.

You guys and gals you live so close are very blessed, so take advantage of it _ Get Out and see it.

Happy New Year to all

Our friends' wedding back in April. They danced ballroom (I believe it was Waltz) for their 1st dance and I thought that this photo really showed how well they danced:

IMAGE: http://images17.fotki.com/v305/photos/1/113845/3568243/IMG_0155-vi.jpg?1148137492

I did a favor for friends of mine and took engagement photos of them. I thought about this type of shot the night before and when I did that day, it came out exactly how I wanted it to:

I did favor for another friend (yes, another favor . . . that's why I'll never make money in photography . . I don't like to charge my friends) and took photos at her brother's engagement party. My friend lost her mother to cancer a few years back and it's been just her and her brother. It was a very emotional moment when she welcomed her brother's fiancee into the family. Yes, there are a lot more "technically" better shots from this party, You can see them here (external link), however, I believe this shot was the best because I captured the emotion of the moment.

Well, I hoped you enjoyed! It was a great year . . . My wife and I are expecting our first child in April, so I already know 2007 is gonna be EVEN BETTER for us! Happy New Year!

I only started with photography recently...so I had a very small selection to pick from lol...

But I would say I'm happiest with these 3, not solely because of the final product...but also because of what I learned by making mistakes along the way. :D

EDIT....grrr, zenfolio not wanting to play nice...working on good link

I didn't realize it was such a bleak year for me. Going through my shots, looking for the ones I liked best, I easily narrowed it down to just four. Last year I couldn't have made it under 25... Then, I tossed one out because it was the subject matter I liked most about it, not the shot itself. So here are my three.

The first two are attached, because I can't embed like I usually do since someone has had my site under a heavy DOS attack since yesterday morning and the server is not responding right now...

They're still in your browser's cache. Refreshing is just pulling them from there. I don't see them either.

Yep. I was on the upper, outdoor observation deck of the Stratosphere fighting some some pretty strong winds while trying to get a usable shot with the 100-400 -- handheld, of course, since they wouldn't let me bring any kind of 'pod up there. I really put the IS to the test. They almost didn't even allow me to bring the 20D, 24-70 and 100-400 up there either because they were afraid I was a professional photographer trying to make a buck off their precious tower, but I was with a wheelchair bound person, and the distraction of getting her to the correct elevator made them forget about the camera equipment I was carrying.

Funny thing about all that is... Only a couple days after I got home from that trip, I was showing the pictures to some coworkers and one immediately asked me how much I wanted for a print of that one. I made the sale.
