4th Feb is fine by me...I've already cleared it with wifie and I may kip in the car the night before.

I'm definitely not sleeping with Dimitri.
I'm still a virgin and want to keep it that way.

I'll definitely be there. Money permitting I might go up on the Friday or Saturday and make a little weekend of it as I quite fancy a couple of sunrise shots down Rannoch Moor way. Any good places to stay around Glencoe? (Not the kingshouse, I've stayed there before and found it way overpriced, No TV in the room either ;) )

Does that caravan site have statics Les?

Cheers

Chris

Is it how far to the nearest coffee shop?

No, John! <sigh> I'm thinking .... magnificent golden rays of sunshine ....... glancing off the mirror-like surface of Loch Etive ...... and illuminating the snowcapped mountains ....... among some pink and gold clouds .......... <sigh>

Or, if the weather's crap, ... how far to the nearest coffee shop?

Just exactly how many kids do you have Steve, and are any more on the way?

That could be an interesting option Chris as failing Les having a 13-berth caravan, John and I might be sleeping in the car too.

That would be great as on the few occasions I've tried for a sunrise, I've usually been facing the wrong way, or a mountain range gets in the way of sunrise.

Pay attention boy! Sunset is 240 degrees - along Glen Etive! Sunrise is 120 degrees - behind the hills south of the Glen.

Rannoch Moor and Loch Ba might be good options for sunrises.

See. And you wonder why I face the wrong direction on such occasions. ;) Seriously though, an overnighter to get sunrise (that's where the sun goes up isn't it...) would be a good opportunity given the 8:15 start. Now all we need is for it to snow for a few weeks and then get frosty in time for the 4th.

Loch Ba is always good for sunrises.

My wife will probably tag along so I hope no hiking is involved (She is pregnant with twins ;))

Well sounds like there might be the FIRST fabled Scottish POTN Weekend !!

A sunset/sunrise sounds good to me as well. Hopefully my Lee filters will have arrived by then, as there appears to be a UK shortage of 0.6 Hard ND Grad's:(

Don't fancy sleeping in the car mind (it's flippin' February), so might look into bunkhouses or sumthin.

We will arrange a meeting point for those who can only make the Sunday nearer the meeting time (probably one of the carparking areas in Glencoe or White Corries ski centre).

You should have convinced your wife to let you get the 1D - you would be so pre-occupied that she would get a good night's sleep.
