:P yeah..I'm still young...and I can't wait until I get a job and am able to afford those lenses...but I need to head to the church..I'm going to work on this some more tonight..I'll update you guys tonight with my new photos...so..you guys are saying that the noise won't look too too bad when I print it in a 4x6?

I printed an 11x14 at ISO1600 with minimal noise reduction and it was just fine...and that was using an XT.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

You might consider not shooting for money until you upgrade. A lot of brides feel (unfortunately) that a photographer is only as good as his/her last wedding. So get a couple of decent lenses that will suffice in lower light and turn out a quality product for your portfolio. That will help you more in the long run that putting out a poor product that might damage your reputation.

I'm not charging any money...this is my sisters wedding..so I'm just sorta doing it for experience...[I'm not the only photographer]

Gotcha. At least it will be good experience for you to see how things flow. Good luck with your shots. :)

Here is what I am using for some basic shots:
Canon 30D
The Kit Lens
and the Canon 75-300mm zoom lens

I agree with others. You should get better lenses. The 50 f1.4 and Tamron 28-75 immediately come to mind as both are around $330 each with great image quality that will help you in low light.

5D, Drebel, EOS-3, K1000
lenses from 12mm-500mm

For a 17 Y/O you certainly seem very mature in your attitude.
I wish you all the best.

Shoot raw, shoot to the right, and use noise ninja on the file immediately after it is converted from raw if necessary. You can also use a monopod and save a stop. It's not obstrusive.

this is ISO 1600, F4, 1/50th sec, shot raw and then converted with PS and hit with noise ninja (standing on a table of course :-)

Talk to your sister to talk to the pro and see if the pro will take you under his/her wing. It would be an excellent experience and if the pro likes the way you work you might got more gig with him/her in the future that will help finance more equipment.

it's more important to have a clear picture with noise than a blurry one with less. =P

Eric (elader), try bouncing your flash with a white card so the foreground isn't so much brighter than the background, if you think it's an issue.
