If you had not said it was a guitar, I would never have guessed. To have an image in context with what it is, you need to back up a touch so more elements of the subject are showing. I like the colors and the lines but it doesn't tell about what it is. This image WOULD have been a great part in a guitar composite though ... from a hand holding a pick to the bridge etc.

to me, it clear that its a guitar, and i would have known without the tip. i love the texture of the strings and the dust behind them . . . the only thing is the lighting makes it look completely washed out. i'd love to see a shot closer in to the strings

To be honest, I also think that I wouldn't had guessed, but I'm not a guitar buff, so who knows.

I had more of the guitar showing in the original but cropped it down because of reflections and a plant in the way. I will more than likely get more shots of him picking away at his guitar. It's his hobby so odds are, if I do get a shot of him at all, there's a guitar in his hands.

I'm still learning........ and the more I read about lenses and all they can do, the more confused I get..... :)

I would have known.
Hope he has a nice bottleneck slide for that.

Guitar is very dusty your husband should demand it be cleaned in return for the loan of photography prop, or you could always clone out each speck ;) (i'm only joking with you)
I like the angle of the shot.
