OP can you repost the photos of this mod on the 550 EX? I clicked your link to the FM forums but the image is missing.

I'd like to see what you mean when you say there isn't as much room in the bottom of the 550.

And I have had ZERO problems. LOVE all of my modded 550EX's now!!!

using a 3-pin or 4-pin plug, its possible to pass power from flash to receiver (and also half-shutter signal to wake up flash), so the receiver is powered from flash batteries. also, its possible to make the receiver turn on together with the flash, so its s no-waste, perfect "symbiotic" working method ;P
