Welcome to POTN!

Hasn't been a problem so far but I rarely get to the big city.

I have a camo tatt00 sleeve slid over mine for photographing wildlife from the kayak. It is long enough to cover the lens fully extended. It bunches up nicely when not extended. It really works well so it is pretty much on the lens full time.

You can buy them on-line really cheap. Here is a link from Googling "camo tatt00 sleeve." http://dx.com …tockings-camouflage-37449 (external link)

Or you can get an old long sleeve t-shirt of the preferred color, cut off the sleeve and hem it.

I live in London. The real one in the UK, not the one in Ontario... And so, walking around a city like London with a huge white lens that shouts "Expensive Glass" I am seriously concerned with...

Welcome to POTN, Colin :)

The only place I got into possible trouble with my 5D2 + 28-300L that was late night in Barcelona, Spain. And nobody gave me a 2nd look anywhere around Europe otherwise.

...awesome shot, i like this the most out of all your shots here!!! ;)

Thanks, meeko :)
More shoots from Big Apple, please...

I had a good sleep overnight and back to work this morning after 4 weeks in overseas :D
Time to post some shoots from the trip (with 5D3):

Thanks for the comments guys. I like the lens coat/sleeve ideas. Gaffer tape over the brand I have heard before. Haven't done it, but I did see someone on Saturday that had done that. I think just having a DSLR is enough, whether it be Canon (or that other big make - LOL) or what, doesn't matter.

i am going to look into the sleeves that Scott has provided a link for. Thx.

X-Tan, that looks like one hell of a trip... Jealous...

I have to ask. And I probably know the answer. But would you guys use the 28-300 for a wedding?

Thx
Colin.

^Thanks Colin :)

If I use 28-300L for a wedding, I will bring a speedlight & off camera cord - 28-300L will get much better picture with the speedlight indoor.

If I pick from my own gear for a wedding, I'll go for 5D3 + 24L II & 5D2 + 85L II - somewhat I feel 24L II AF works better with 5D3.

From this evening. This was processed on a laptop which is impossible to calibrate. Please pardon it if it is too saturated. I will update it when I get home.
