Just back home after our regular Sunday walk.
Most ships for Antarctica cruises departure from Ushuaia
, an island of Argentina. The shortest trip will take 10 days, which include 4 days for and back from Drake Passage. The Drake Passage's water is just very very rough, so sea sick medication definitely need for most the people. We took Ondansetron Wafer (get the 8mg), also Scopolamine patch; which worked very well.
We used two CPL filters - Canon 2191B001 for 28-300L; and B+W 77mm Kaesemann XS-Pro for 24L II. After we came back, we ordered a B+W 72mm Kaesemann Circular Polarizer Slim
MRC Filter for my 85L II; which I like it more.
Personally, if anyone go to Antarctica as once-only trip, I feel that you should take the longer trip to South George route. Now we have to do another trip to the South in few years' time.
Xtan what I was trying to explain to you was, you could avoid the 4 day going and coming , instead of the roller coaster ride through the Drake Passage, by flying over it, and meeting up with the ship.. You may want to consider that on your next trip, whenever that is.
