MedicineMan4040 The Magic Johnson of Cameras More info | Nov 20, 2013 00:05 | #1460 I've recently rented via LensRental.com the 28-300 trying before purchase. Here are some results: Testing the Canon 28-300mm L IMAGE LINK: http://www.flickr.com …icineman4040/10932525135/ Lens test #4 IMAGE LINK: http://www.flickr.com …icineman4040/10952560825/ Testing the Canon 28-300mm L I also have the Sigma 50/500 and the Sigma 120-300. For me the IQ of the Canon 28-300 is better than the Sigma 50/500.....$1000 better? That's a great question that only the individual can make.. The Sigma 120-300 is another beast entirely. It is $1000 more than the 28-300 BUT so much heavier. I carried it daily in Alaska 2 months ago and it's weight eventually takes its toll on me. Image quality between these two is the same in my eye. If I knew I'd have adequate light the 28-300 is the primary choice; if shooting in much lower light the 120-300 wins. I'm doing safari this coming summer and after having shot with the 28-300 I'm strongly considering it for that trip. flickr

Coupon Hatchling 8 posts Joined Jul 2008 More info | So I bought this guy and have been very happy. What I haven't been happy with is my quite aging camera body not being able to keep up with it! Time for an upgrade soon.
