i just got an SD600 and i must say so far i love it. i was wondering if you could change the shutter speed manually. i want to play around with it and get different effects but i cant find shutter speed anywhere.

I just looked at the specs from DPreview.com and the SD600 does not have Shutter or Aperture priority, so I doubt you can manually change the shutter speed.

SD cameras are very much in the 'point and shoot' mode of operation. They're very good cameras (our family camera is an Ixus 700, which is the SD500), but you can't take control over the aperture or shutter speed used. You do have a choice of metering modes, and an exposure compensation control, but that's about it.
