Usually I'm doing baseball and football and thought I'd give this a try. This was way more difficult I thought. Much faster and in a tighter area. C&C welcomed.

I just did a HS BB tourney and tried some different set ups. Yours look as good as any I did. I tried my 85 and 50 prime and had problems nailing the focus mainly on shots moving toward the camera. I am guessing because of the narrow DOF . I started using flash to fill. What set up were you using for these shots? www.richardkimberley.com

The first two looked like you used flash.Checking your exif indicates you did. The last one shows player motion from a too slow shutter. Looking at your data I assume you were using the 70-200, iso 3200, and at 2.8 you get motion blur and noise. I shoot in the same kind of gyms and it is a constant battle. If you have sideline access try using your 50mm f/1.8. That will allow you to go to iso 1600 and get your shutter up to 1/500. A custom white balance will also help. If you plan on doing more basketball I would suggest adding the 85mm f/1.8 to your lineup. One of the best lenses for indoor use and fairly inexpensive. Good luck, Bruce Wrap your ass in fiberglass.... You're only young once but you can be immature the rest of your life

The first two I did use a flash and others I didn't....was just trying different settings to see what worked - knowing the lighting in that gym will be different from the next. Frank Lauri
