Happy to say that D60 owners have an alternative to converting D60 raw files.
Thumbsplus will allow you to view all images. and convert only those selected.

You can convert from within TP without options or convert using the canon twain driver.

Hi Guys-

I tried converting my D60 RAWS with Infaview (v. 3.3) and all it does it to try and rename the .crw to a .tif. After allowing it to do so, it then complains about the file (I didn't write down the exact wording), but refuses to open/convert it at all.

Secondly, I don't have ThumbsPlus, but since Canon hasn't released their new SDKs for the D60 yet, how could the TP developers have the correct libraries to use to decode the new RAWs?

What I suspect, (though I don't know this for a fact), is that TP is converting the embedded .jpg in the D60 RAW to a .tiff file (not the RAW itself).

To those of you who do have TP, tell me- what size is the file after TP converts it to a .tiff? It SHOULD be 18MB; if it is only @ 9MB, then I would suspect TP is only converting the .jpg to a .tiff. (The D60's embedded .jpgs are much larger in size than the .thms which came with the D30).

Please let me know; I'm very curious!

This is a "D" gallery, but I'll make a "G" comment. I've used ThumbsPlus for years and just installed version 5 with the CRW conversion plug-in.

Unless I'm missing something -- and I've written to Cerious who responded to other concerns but didn't mention this -- the program will convert my G2 files to 8-bit, but not 16-bit. If there's a 16-bit option, I couldn't find it.
