Whats that in #2, a Kingfisher? Nice colors.

Both are grainy, probably from high ISO, low shutter speeds. Try setting ISO to 200 or 400 and using flash, even the popup. You'll be surprised what a little fill flash will do. Also, don't forget, your attaching images to the board, and are limited to 100K. Thats going to force you to use lower quality images to start with. Maybe look around for a cheap hosting plan, and upload your images to your server, or sign up for a free account.

thanks canonloader flash was a bit difficult the kingfisher was about 70 ft away yep the picture is massively cropped, (200/400 iso was out of the question shutter was already down to 1/25th),800iso, low shutter speed and 100 k upload im amazed anything even shows.lol. still i will proceed to learn this lens and thanks for the flash fill tip sorta never crossed my mind on this size zoom ..even though i use it a lot on my other lens.

OK, 70 feet is a little far for the flip up flash, but that 580ex you own will make it. ;)

It seems like a lot of extra work to use flash, but it will make all the difference. And get a free account somewhere. That will make a big difference and only takes a few minutes to set up. ;)

I have my own hosting for my sites, which I use, so I have never used anything else. But it seems a lot of guys here use this one (external link). There are others.
