The 360 sure does have a lot to offer if its on an HDTV. Almost as good as a decent PC, and better then your average Dell. Thing is I wonder how many are actually plugged into an HDTV and how many are on some little 14" TV in a kids bedroom. :)

Actually you would be surprised, a lot of people are running them in HD.

I just got Final Fantasy III as well, and I have nine hours on it from four days.

The other good thing is just how approachable games like Wii sports, Rayman and such are. People with no interest in video games are actually having a good time when I force a remote into their hands. :)

So, what is the benefit to accessing the internet in this way, as opposed to using a computer? Other than the fact that you can.

I have one and have gotten online - its very clunky to use on my 56" screen - you can't even read a lot of the text. It is definitely not a computer replacement. It is pretty cool to access my smugmug account and run slideshows of the galleries, though.

I think I'll go play some tennis as a matter of fact!! Now that the kids have gone to bed Dad can play...

We have Zelda but I have yet to play it. The wife and kids seem to like it, though. Ijust can't allow myself to get into those games that suck up time. I tend to stick to the ones I can play in 15 or 20 minutes and stop.

I can't imagine what they will do with this thing in 2nd generation once they get feedback from the current system...

my advice, don't even touch Zelda. after playing it for over 50 hours, i can honestly say that this game is highly addictive and once you get into it, it will be immposible to stop. lucky for me, i am almost done with it so i can go back to my "regular" life.

I bought a PS3 the other day.

PS3 = $599.95
Extra controller = $49.99
Need For Speed = $59.99
Call of Duty 3 = $59.99

Total = $769.92
+ 6% Tax = $816.11

I would be 10X happier with a 135L in my bag.

I got the nintendo as my kids are fairly young and its better aimed at them. It cost be about $410 (console, 2 games, extra controller, extra nunchuck). Sure, graphics on the PS3 are a whole lot prettier, but man, twice the price.

If I want nice graphics I can plug my computer in to the TV. It's a recently updated gaming PC so it'd out shine a PS3 no problem. :) And the games are a whole heck of a lot cheaper.

Yeah, the fact demand for the PS3 is low enough they are sitting on shelves doesn't help. Neither apparently does the unexpectedly high hardware failure rate. If you want a PS3 it sounds like you really need a receipt as well in case you need to return it.
