My fiancé is German - From the Stuttgart / Heidelberg area, and she was mentioning a German move that is apparently traditional for New Year's Eve. It has to do with an elderly woman living alone throwing a party and the butler plays the roles of all of her friends.

Does that sound familiar, or was that tradition specific to her family only?

If anyone knows, what was the name of the film (English translation please.) I am thinking DVD for next Christmas.

Thanks,

Rad

DUH!!

You would think that the Spell Check would have caught that. OF Course I meant "MOVIE" - the only traditional German "Move" that I can think of is one that goes South and East into France.

This sketch is shown every New Year's Eve on TV here in Sweden. You can ask almost anyone here and they can quote at least something from it. Hysterical!
