Please only vote if you OWN a copy of the lens. Thanks.

Seems to be a hot subject these days so I wanted to have a poll.

No dust, and I have used my 17-55 in some very dusty conditions while travelling in Africa.

No dust here, and I used mine to shoot a baja car up close the other day for 2+ hours.

Lots of dust within two weeks of purchase. Sent back and would not buy again until they make a weather-sealed version.

Had 2 copies and both accumulated dust. Returned them for 24-105mm 4L. Still miss them sometimes, but Sigma 30mm 1.4 is helping me get over them. ;)

I've only had mine for a few weeks so maybe over time it will suck more and more dust in but mine is clean for now.

Switched to Nikon . . . Thanks to all of you that made my sale a success! Enjoy your new gear!

I have had my copy since June 2006 and have had no dust issues. The 17-55 EF-S IS is a stellar performer and is reason enough to own a crop body Canon camera :)

No dust in 2 + months, but I do have about 100 of the best shots I've taken in the past 3 years. Damm it's sharp! Outstanding lens!

Yes, I put a Hoya SuperDMC UV filter immediately. I also blew out any residual dust from my camera body (A good idea anyway) before it was mounted.

There's little chance of that, since it isn't an L.

I never had the dust issue when I owned mine and it was taken to some brutal places
