Here is a link to the Redskins and Giants. More than likely this will be the last regular season game that Tiki Barber will play in--he will more than likely retire after the season. He went out in style with 3 touchdowns in the game.

I hope you like them.

I was using the 70-200 since I didn't have time to rend the 400mm. I pretty much always use Manual settings. Redskins stadium at night will get you 800 ISO, 2.8 and 500th Shutter.

Personally why didn't you bump up your iso to 1600 at get a faster shutter?

I like that one also. I will try 1600 next year and see what shutter speed it gets me and I could stop the action that much better.

Dave, again, great shots. A few friends of mine were at the game. They were completely depressed the Skins lost, but you know, it's been a rough year. Shots are great for sharpness and color. You really can get close to them in that stadium.

Happy New Year, Dave!

Thanks Suzie....not a lot of room in the stadium, the endzone is really bad.

I lived in St Louis for 3 years and still follow the Rams and I'm not sure what is going on with them.

Woah - you got that close with 200mm?! without a TC?!

...or should we assume that you've cropped these pics?

(not trying to be rude- I want to know b/c I'm thinking about buying the 70-200)

I did do some cropping and I really like this lens so I don't think you will have any problems with it. The key with this lens is to stay with the action up and down the field and you should be OK.

Good shots, I am a Skins fan as well. I take it you were on the field taking the shots?
If so, how would one go about getting a pass to be on the field as a photographer? Are there any requirements?

All Canon, all the time.

What camera were you using? I think you should have kicked up your ISO. Both the 30D and 1DMKIIn will handle higher noise well. They are nice, but a higher shutter would have eliminated some of the blur there.

I shoot for a couple local papers in the DC area and this is where I get my credentials.

I will shoot a higher ISO and Shutter the next night game to give it a try. I was using the recommended settings from talking to others in the media room.

Interesting. That is weird that they said ISO 800. You should on either camera probably do ISO 1250 and 1/640. That would be a good setting.
