Taken at the indoor skatepark in St. Thomas, Ontario.

First time out testing the 30D with action, not too shabby!

Nice shots. Interesting angles and backgrounds. I like #3 the most - has a surreal feel to it.

Did you use an on-camera flash with these or strobes? If on camera, what settings did you use?

The 2nd one works for me with the expression on the riders face...top stuff.

Is the rider someone you know or just someone that likes cameras getting pointed at them(and is a bit handy on a bike)?

Put it off camera on a tripod, use the 580ex as a master(doesnt fire) just syncs the flash with what I am doing with the camera, and when I fire it. Creates a lot more "appealing" look, expecially with sports photography like this.

ok..so you are using hte flash like a strobe light...i have to learn flash photography as i dont have a flash yet...but i'm tempted to get one.. thanks for hte quick explanation..
