Just thought it might be interesting to compare usage.

I have owned my Rebel XT for about 13 months and have 7745 clicks.

That's an average of 595/month.

How many do you have?

Yeah - this caught my eye and make me check...

Have owned my Rebel XT since March '06 and 3566 snaps...in ten months that is about 356 per month.

Bought the Xt 10-12 months ago has just under 4k clicks
Picked up 30D 2 weeks or so ago has 600 clicks, admittedly about 400 are 'suss it out' shots

Aug '05 (16 mos) 19,409 clicks = ~1200/mo

Granted... more than half of those can be chalked up to education and technique practice. Early on I decided this was a learning tool and not a precious resource :)

Haha, me too, most of mine were in the beginning, and then it kinda slowed up after a while, when i didnt end up having to take 18 pictures of the same thing, just to get one to turn out somewhat decent.

I have that down to about 2 now, sometimes one.... :) YAY ME!! lol

since the end of July 06, about 3000 clicks = 600 or so a month, but like everyone else alot of those were learning shots, I'm getting much better and needing less pictures to get what I'm going for, plus the cold weather is not helping me here...

Starting from scratch :)

How do you see how many clicks you have? I've had mine since July '06 but have never tried to see how many clicks.

18 months. 15K clicks during the first 12 months before I transitioned to something a bit more robust. Old but still a great camera.

Ok, so here is a dumb question, where do you go to see how many clicks you have? I have the XTi. Also as a side note, when the shutter does die can it be fixed/replaced, or do you have to just buy a new camera?
