Just wondered which you prefer? I ordered a Hoya digital skylight filter and they sent me the non digital one which is fine but they said they would send my the digital UV filter so I could try that and send the other one back if I prefered it 9good customer service) as far as I can tell from the sights there isn't a great deal of difference or am I missing something???
So which would you keep...UV or skylight??

Skylight filters are colored with some pink, so in addition to blocking UV rays, they add a warming effect. I use UV, which are not colored.

For digital cameras with auto white balance the slight red tint to a skylight filter does not make any difference. Your camera will correct for the tint of the filter. If you shoot RAW you can make more adjustments later in post processing.

Skylight filters were designed for shooting colour slide film at high elevations or other locations where light has a slight bluish tint. This was corrected by using a filter with a slight red tint.

I think as long as it says SHMC then it should be the top end Hoya multicoating and it shouldn't matter if it says digital or not.

I use UV filters rather than skylight as skylight will slightly filter the blue end of the spectrum. Hoya might do protective filters also that do not cut UV but I suspect there is no real difference.
