is there any kind of "quick release" mechanism for attaching/removing the strap to the camera? i usually just keep the strap on but there are times i'd like to have it off completely. some straps i've seen have a release but it still leaves about 4" of nylon and plastic attached to the camera and thats what i'm trying to do away with.

thanks,

-j

I've never seen one like you want.

I can't think of any way to give you want you want and still be able to hold the weight of a DSLR + Lens safely.
I'm afraid you are stuck with the 4" of nylon.
