Hi, I have just bought an E1 hand strap for my 20D and it doesn`t come with any instructions on how to fit it!
This sounds pretty lame but has anyone got any images of their camera with this strap fitted so I can have a look and fit mine properly.

Cheers guys

Directions on how to install it are on the grip instruction sheet, since Canon didn't design the strap to work on a camera without the grip (there's no lower loop for it to anchor to).

The sneaky little buggers never told me it wouldn`t fit without a grip!
Is there another add-on I can get that will allow me to use the strap, without a grip?

Thanks for the info guys

yes, I can't think of the name, but its a device that screws into the tripod threading.

I would highly recommend the grip though, it makes life a lot easier

I'll ditto coreyopolis comment. Grip + handstrap is an excellent sport/action setup.

I think this is what you're asking about: http://www.bhphotovideo.com …EG&addedTroughType=search (external link)

But I agree, I like the grip.

Unfortunately as has been said you need a grip to be able to use the hand strap.

You can get generic handstraps for SLRs , checking camera accessories on ebay should be rewarding - they are usually pretty cheap. IMO they look clunky though.

check out these guys, they are actually Arca Swiss compatible quick release plates with a handstrap lug. However they provide a new 1/4" hole for non AS tripod heads, or whatever.

or the same functionality, same price, a bit lighter in weight

The double ended plates allow one to still use a neck strap to the other side of the camera, opposite the handstrap. (see camdapter pic of double ended plate).

I use a 3rd party hand strap without a grip and definitely wouldn't want to be without it. I was so glad to see that camdapter finally made a plate to fit RC2 Manfrotto quick release adapters. It's my next purchase.
