My Crumpler 7 Million came today! I've been having a pretty crazy time finding a bag...until now! This is certainly the best bag for a large SLR hands down. It does it all. Convenience, weight, storage, easy access, comfortable, etc... Basically the bag is a lot smaller than I expected. Very compact. My 5D has a grip and a QR plate attached so its pretty big. This bag handles it with no issue whatsoever. I keep the lens hood on my 35L. I have the hood on my 24-105L too. This just holds everything! I still have room for another lens. (my fisheye when I order it!) The bag is really not heavy at all. Easy bag to hold, comfortable on my shoulder, and doesn't look like a camera bag whatsoever.
Two downsides...but not really negative points. The top flap is not heavy padded. You can feel the camera through it if you press down. Then again, my camera is huge and cannot sit all the way below the padding level. No big deal, i dont think it will be an issue at all. If you press down you feel it. When I rest my arm on the bag, I don't even notice it. Nitpicking here.
Second, the large upper flat pocket is not really going to work for large items because they might come in contact with the camera. Especially if you have a 70-200L attached to the camera. Its all good, I keep anything that large in one of the other pockets and reserve the top for papers, memory cards, and little things. The side pockets that are hidden are deep too. Not an issue for me at all.
The 7 is worth every penny! I haven't been able to stick my camera in any bag that I could quickly reach in and grab it until now! I love it! Here are some pics! (camera isnt in it...for obvious reasons!) Oh, and for size reference, I'm about 5' 9")
