My Crumpler 7 Million came today! I've been having a pretty crazy time finding a bag...until now! This is certainly the best bag for a large SLR hands down. It does it all. Convenience, weight, storage, easy access, comfortable, etc... Basically the bag is a lot smaller than I expected. Very compact. My 5D has a grip and a QR plate attached so its pretty big. This bag handles it with no issue whatsoever. I keep the lens hood on my 35L. I have the hood on my 24-105L too. This just holds everything! I still have room for another lens. (my fisheye when I order it!) The bag is really not heavy at all. Easy bag to hold, comfortable on my shoulder, and doesn't look like a camera bag whatsoever.

Two downsides...but not really negative points. The top flap is not heavy padded. You can feel the camera through it if you press down. Then again, my camera is huge and cannot sit all the way below the padding level. No big deal, i dont think it will be an issue at all. If you press down you feel it. When I rest my arm on the bag, I don't even notice it. Nitpicking here.

Second, the large upper flat pocket is not really going to work for large items because they might come in contact with the camera. Especially if you have a 70-200L attached to the camera. Its all good, I keep anything that large in one of the other pockets and reserve the top for papers, memory cards, and little things. The side pockets that are hidden are deep too. Not an issue for me at all.

The 7 is worth every penny! I haven't been able to stick my camera in any bag that I could quickly reach in and grab it until now! I love it! Here are some pics! (camera isnt in it...for obvious reasons!) Oh, and for size reference, I'm about 5' 9")

the inside color of your bag is way better than mine was. I got the grey/ blue toned bag, and the inside was a bright baby blue color, which i absolutely hated.. one bottle of RIT black dye later, and i am very happy with the bag (same complaints as you though). The only other issue is the velcro front flap, which can be really obnoxious when trying to take out the camera in a quiet situation. All around great bag though.. i love how non-camera baggy it looks.

Yeah, the velcro i don't think is too bad. Also, if I find myself somewhere that I need to be THAT quiet, I just won't close the flap. I can keep it "closed" but not velcroed. If you just let it hang down, instead of latching it, it will stay above the velcro I found.

I was thinking about one of the other colors. I have a different bag for my laptop that has orange interior. That really helps when looking for something. I just really prefer a black exterior since it draws little attention.

I own the 5 million and when my gear collection started to grow I bought the 7 million. I found it didnt support everything enough - just felt overloaded and unstable. Got the slingshot 200 instead and LOVE that bag. But for a walk-around configuration, the crumpler 5 million goes everywhere with me -

Got my 7MDH couple days ago, only just had a good look at it this morning. When i grabbed it at the shop it was smaller than i was expecting.
This morning loaded up the 5D with 50 1.4 , 16-35 , 135 2.0 , 1.4 Ext , ST-E2 and 4 spare batteries. All in with room to spare.
Feels good on the shoulder. Strap feels wide and comfortable.
Looks to be money well spent. Will know for sure on Sunday after few hours lugging around the airports...

Edit: hmmm, now where did i put that 580EX...

i agree 100%, it is the best bag that i have used yet. i love mine and i truly enjoy using it in the field. as for the velcro, what i did was get another square of velcro that i had lying around the house. now, i carry that piece in the bag and when i need to be quiet, i just put it on top of the bag's velcro and it acts as a block...

Blue S2,
I can't quite tell from the pictures, but what colour combination is your 7MDH? is it the black exterior one? if so, I thought it's suppose to be baby blue on the interior? but yours seems to be brownish?? are there different versions of this bag?

Thanks for the review..

Can't wait to get mine...

My bag is black exterior. Yeah, brown inside. I thought it was supposed to be grey interior. Oh well, I like the brown inside with the black anyways! I don't find it to be unstable when loaded at all. Depends how you load it maybe. 5D is the center with all its weight is perfect, then one heavy lens on each side.

I have the Sling 200 as well. That bag is an example of perfect space use and nothing really compares to its interior. I do much prefer this bag for daily utility than a sling though!
