Does anyone know of a store that rents the larger 400mm+ Canon lenses? I noticed the best Henry's rents is the 70-200, but I have one of those, I'd like to try out a 500 or 600 one day just to see what it's like.

Of course I'm only interested in the General Toronto Area, I live to the West of Toronto.

Any ideas are appreciated!

Thanks, but damit the best they do is a 300 2.8, and the 100-400, nothing major.

Oh, you're right, I totally missed that.

They want $150 for a day, I don't think I'd be willing to pay $150 for a day with just a 400, would rather spend a bit more and have a 500 or 600.

Wow, they don't do Canada, but they've got some nice stuff, and amazing pricing...

Henry's wants $350 CDN for a day with a 1Ds, and that site wants only $160 USD for THREE days.

Guys,
I'd like to rent to Canada. I just don't have a clue how the customs folks would react and I can't seem to find out. But its probably time to do a little experimenting and see what happens. So while I officially don't rent outside the U. S. if someone on the forum wants to give it a go, I'm interested in trying it out.
I don't think I want to try with a big telephoto right off the bat, but other than that I'm game to try. Anyone from Canada who's interested send me a pm or email me at support@lensrentals.com (external link) and we can give it a go.

Roger

You'll _really_ want to avoid USPS for US -> Canada shipping, it takes at best 2 weeks, at worst 3-4 weeks. DHL is the best option, they will ship US to Canada in a day via their standard services, but they can be expensive. UPS typically averages 3 or 4 days, I have yet to extensively try FedEX for US to Canada shipping.

Canada to US shipping via USPS is typically faster, averaging 2 weeks. So you'll probably want to completely avoid USPS/Canada Post, since that would eat into your profits. For the extra cost in non-USPS shipping methods, you'll make up for it by the additional time you can rent out the lens to someone else.

Customs wise, yea, who knows what will happen, I'd be interested in knowing what happens too.

Regards.
