This is cool stuff. Lighting is unique. Looks like something in a street tuner mag, or an advertisement picture.

I like the background on this one, i think i would have burnt the lights up top a bit more though. Right now it looks like tonemapping. A little darker top would probably make it appear more realistic.

Thank you so much!! I took your advice & cropped out the lights. Also, made the opacity a tad darker. This made a world of difference IMO.

Nice! I like. Try one last thing... opent he image again in photoshop, then go into Image --> Mode --> Lab Color. The on the layers window, select the "Channel" tab. highlight the "Lightness" channel ONLY, and then do Filter --> Sharpen --> Unsharp Mask and use the following settings;

Amount: 100
Radius: 1.0
Threshold: 10

And then convert back to RGB.

Enjoy! :)

Awesome!! I think it was a big mistake giving me all this advice. Now I'm gonna bug the hell out of you w/ questions. :D I'm new to photography & CS2 (2.5mos.). So I have a lot of questions.

What does changing the mode to Lab Color do?
Couldn't I just have used the USM w/o it?
What is the difference w/ USM on Lab Color Mode?

Thanks again for the great advice. I feel like I owe you some $$.. lol

Re-re-edit.

Haha, no problems, i modified one myself, i hope you don't mind. You don't have 'image editing ok' turned on, but i'm assuming that's by mistake.

Converting to lab. You have an image with not too much color, but some highlights that can benefit from sharpening. I don't wanna sharpen your wheels or body too much, so i decide since i can seperate the highlights from the color channels in lab color, i'll convert to that mode, and select the lightness channel, and only sharpen that.

On my version above, i also went into the a and b channels and used the picker took and saw where the body lies on the curves, and steepened the curve on that location and got some reddish color out of the body. I'm assuming there was a red light or sign nearby.
I also burnt the slats in the background to be radial around the car, as in, the top left i made darker.

So after touching the lightness channel with the sharpen tool, i then only selected the a channel, then went to Image --> Adjustments --> Curves , I selected the color picker tool from the toolbox, and slide the color picker along the body of the car, and saw the little circle on the curves line to see the range. I made about 6 black points on the range, always keeping the very middle dot in the center, and then modified the curves, the steeper the more contrast and a little color comes out;

A Channel:

B Channel:

Keep in mind, this doesn't work on all images, lab is weird, and i'm still trying to master it myself, i say, experiement. I'm no expert. :)
