Very nice sea king. I'm bored as all hell and like this image, since you have image editing ok on, i took a stab at some post processing.

In your shot the side door area and not the nose seems to be in the sharpest focus area, so i used the smart sharpen tool, and then the pen sharpener and did up the nose a little bit more. Also i made the sky a light hue of blue instead of grey, (i converted to lab color and selected the b channel and i played with the curve).

Here's what i got;

Forgive me for messing with your shot, i'm in Boston and it's cold here, boredom and no aircraft to shoot! :(

Cracking job on that.
My PP skills are virtually nil, will have to get myself into gear and sort it out.

Great shot! I have a hard time in Mildenhall trying to get shots like that. How far were you from the aircraft?

A fair way off, used the painfully slow Sigma 175-500 on this shot.
Was amazed it coped so well.
The Hall shouldn't require too big a lens from the mound i reckon 70-200 would be more than ample.
From the other end i dont suppose anything over a 300 would be needed.

You might get a few quid for it if you send it to Aviation Weekly. I'm in the process of sending a few of mine in. Do you have more shots earlier in the turn? I think being able to take the picture at about 45° from the nose would've added more to the helicopter... then again, we take what we can get...

I got several dozen shots of this as it did a few passes.
This though i like the best in terms of qaulity etc.
The jolly Sigma was really struggling to keep up the pace.
Praise be for the 100-400 L....

First shot is very good.

The PP is very very impressive in my opinion.
