Camera > Bridge (for quick look at what to toss) > Lightroom > CS2.

I was using Aperture, but it was too slow on my MacBook Pro.

Glad I'm not the only one who found this. I loved the software but it was very bloated and laggy in my opinion.

Camera > Mac Pro/Macbook Pro > Lightroom > Photoshop for some photos > Convert everything to Jpeg > ShowitWeb slideshow/burn DVD.
I m thinking of using Pictage, looks like they do a pretty good job in promotions and stuff. Well if I can digest the cost...

I use Lightroom for everything. It reads the memory card, renames the files, and copies to an event directory. I then set metadata (location and keywords), rate with stars, and edit those ranked over 2 and develop from Raw into JPEG. Further retouching in Photoshop if necessary. Upload and print results.

Filenames and directories are based off The DAM book naming scheme (filename: initials_date_number; directory: archive_date_shootname).

Lightroom runs acceptably on my 1.0 GHz G4, while Aperture wouldn't even run. I don't have Bridge (I use Elements 2.0) and iPhoto didn't have enough IPTC support and developing options.

1) Rebel XT tethered to PowerBook with Eos Capture right into Aperture
2) process and into Photoshop CS2
3) print from CS2

here's a link to using Aperture and tethered shooting called Aperture Hot Folder

My current workflow

1. iPhoto (it's been great for all my organization needs
2. Lightroom for Raw conversion.....I also use for some B&W conversions
3. Photoshop Elements 4
4. Sometimes back to Lightroom for it's unique printing options (when I print on 8.5 x 11 and smaller.
5. I store all amy finished master images in a seperate folder on external HD.

For me: camera -> card reader -> Image Capture to event folder -> Lightroom Import -> delete crappy pics :) -> Backup to DVD & external drive -> Edit as necessary (can't fix in LR) in PS CS3.

I know, but I'm paranoid about backups.

For those of you who use Iphoto - is it just me or are the colors pretty off in this application?

Is iPhoto color managed nowadays? Older version (5) wasn't (external link)...

I use this workflow:

Camera -> card reader -> (better-finder-viewer-renamer) -> ACR -> PSCS -> iPhoto

note1: I manually build my own directory in an event-based chronological structure
note2: I use ViewIt to view/rename
note3: I use ACR to process RAW files
note4: I use PSCS for some basic processing
note5: I add to iPhoto only the best images for web, screensaver, slideshow, etc.
