Printing at Home vs. Pro Lab

I have a wedding show this week-end, and I know there will be many brides asking if I give out a CD with the images, (which I don't) I have my photos printed at a professional lab. My question is how do I easily explain to them that the quality is worth paying for, vs. printing them at home on their own printer, or printing them at Wal-Mart.
Thanks,
Lally

tell them that if they are paying good money to you for the shots, then they shouldnt skimp out on getting prints either. Prints from regular home printers and walmarts are fine for most purposes, but this is their wedding, and these prints will embody their memories of that day.. why not spend a few extra bucks and make sure that the person printing their image is a pro and knows not to immediately apply automatic contrast and color settings (i think a lot of the walmart/ target/ retail developers do this). they also get the option of using different papers (canvas can be really nice for large wedding prints, IMO). 4*6's to send out to friends are fine from walmart, but anything worth keeping should be done at a professional lab.

Show them the difference between a home print, a consumer lab print, and a fully treated pro lab print of the same photo. You'll add to the auditive aspect by providing visual and kinesthetic sense. If you can't make your case with those samples, then people will not believe you.

Great idea...I will do that for sure.

I get alot of that can I print my own..and once was almost attacked because of my copyright on the back of their photos...it was crazy and my husband had to step in and calm them down...I tried to compromise with them..they never got back to me...probably bought a scanner.

Can you recommend 1 or more good labs? I want to see what's out there. Thanks.
