The first shot of the minster has a wonder etherreal glow about it. Not sure why but the last shot I like, a cheeky, candid spur of the moment thing?

I take it there is no problem using a tripod in the minster, or are you best to ask?

No problems using a tripod, as long as it's not stuck in the middle of choir practice :)

Since the minster has started charging for entry (£4), this includes a photo-pass.

Well worth a visit.

OK,i didn`t think of that.
A wee trick that i`ve heard of lately is...while you are taking the shot...hold the filter with your hand carefully in front of the lens,i need to try it some time.

I take it that the railway museum also don't mind tripods?

#6 is simply superb Les. Great use of the ultra wide on the full frame body.

Cheers,

Simon.

Hi Simon

Good to hear from you, and no, they don't mind tripods, it's worth a visit, and the best of it all, it's free :)

nice series, I'd consider cooling down the WB on the 3rd shot and eliminating the green color cast on the last shot though.

Yes, I've tried it, but normally make a complete pig's ear of it :) ;)

No lack of color or detail in these shots, but my favorite out of the bunch has to be #6, only because I stared at it the longest with amazement.
Les, Isn't there something missing with #8....Where's the pint of beer?

I may well be up in York in the next few weeks so will hopefully get time to visit, shame I only have a 17mm lens though....hardly a wide lens at all.... :| You really do make the most of that Sigma, I am impressed with the results you get.

As for holding a filter infront of the lens, my Lee holder should be here today so I won't ever have to again :)
