I made a simple script today to convert my all my CR2 files into jpg 50%.

1.
you need Xnview (imagemagick dont like CR2)
http://download2.xnview.com/XnView-win-full.exe (external link)

2.
Save this line into a batch file. MyConverter.bat

for %%Q in (*.cr2) do (
"C:\Program Files\XnView\nconvert.exe" -npcd 2 -size 256x256+0 -ctype grey -corder inter -out jpeg -o %%~nQ_Converted.jpg -ratio -rtype linear -rflag orient -resize 50%% 50%% "%%Q"
)

3.
save your file MyConverter.bat into your CR2 folder and double click on it
note. You can add your MyConverter.bat in the right click contextual menu in Windows Explorer so you dont have to copy this file in every folders

4.
wait and enjoy!!

If I were going to do that I'd just shoot JPG Medium in the first place. This seems like a heck of a lot of work with little gain while completely obliterating all the benefits of shooting RAW.

What are you trying to achieve with this?

You can take my 100-400 L away when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers.

I do pipeline for the Film industry. Some of my scripts manage 5 000 image a day, convert to mov, scale, stamp... All those scripts do my boring and repetitive job.

For instance, stamping some info on all image on my drive, create a second B/W image, create a web page and a thumbnail of all pictures on my drive and than backup it.
Well, this is just a backup example, but you can save a lot of time with scripts

I like shooting in Raw format and the CR2 pluging for photoshop.

Stamp example on a crappy picture

There certainly is value for some persons that want the information like you have shown in the image.

I agree with Scott that batching all of your RAW files at once doesn't make much sense. You lose the value of shooting it in first place. I manage each image individually when processing my RAW images. If you have C1 you can do that without the script and you can at least globally apply some advantages of the RAW conversion that they offer.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

Photoshop Elements 3 has this function built in. Called Process Multiple Files and you can specify output size, file type and yes it will convert RAWs with options to do auto levels, auto color, auto contrast, and sharpen. A handy tool if you want decent looking pictures in a hurry or don't need the best out of the shots.
