I have a Canon SD230 that I often find useful in trip I don't want to bring my SLR. But this camera is way outdated. Could someone recommend me a good P&S camera? My budget is $250, but the cheaper the better, if you have a used ones for sale that's even better. 4~5MP is good enough for me, but I'd like to have wider angle and faster lens if possible. Not limited to Canon, which I find relatively expensive. Thanks for your recommendation.

Thanks for the suggestion. Forgot to add, it better have short shutter lag < 0.1s, and pocketable. Also can someone help me with this: F2.8 ~ F4.1 (W), F4.5 ~ F9(T). What does that mean? Max/Min aperature is 2.8 and 4.1 for wide? Isn't the min. way to big?

SD600 is really small, light and not very expensive (at least where I live). It offers pretty basic functionality, but it's fast and the results are excellent.

Best wishes,
Oleg.

not a recommendation, but stay away from the Nikon coolpix L1, my company bought a grip of them to use for work and I hate using it, very slow, flash takes forever to recharge, blurry pictures if the camera isn't held absolutely still, etc...

I think I'll settle with panasonic DMC-LZ3 with 6x opt zoom, F2.8~4.5 and IS for $145 and it is pretty small. Sorry, all canon models look like rip off.
