Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

Usually a prime or two that is appropriate along with a zoom in the general range. For example, if it an indoor school event, it might be a 30/1.4, 85/1.8 and 17-55/2.8 zoom. If its kids soccer it might be 135/2, 70-200/2.8 and 1.4 TC. It just depends what I'm doing. I rarely take a larger kit.
