What's the difference between these 2? They look pretty similar but I've only seen the 1st one in person. Thanks.

Just name and dimensions. The Domke-Tamron is ever-so-slightly bigger. I'm betting it's the EXACT same thing. One of them just has Tamron on it.

Yeah, I can only tell the dimensions and name are slightly different from the website, but want to get some input for those who has seen both and know the real difference.

I have the Tamron/Domke and one other difference is the Domke has pocket in the front, you can see it here:

http://www.cambags.com …e_f-5xb_canon5d_jrs_6.jpg (external link)

where the pen is.

My Tamron/Domke does not have one, not a big deal at all, being how small that "pocket" is.

As you already know the Tamron is like $20 less also.

Funny - my Tamron/Domke (from Adorama - like yours?) has a front pocket where the photo shows the pen. The Tamron/Domke doesn't have a belt slot which the "pure" Domke does, and may be missing some of the other pockets the pure Domke has..

My Domke/Tamron has the front pocket also, but like Jon, doesn't have the belt loop.

I also don't have the belt loop.
Will check again when I'm home and take pics for the front pocket.

Thinking about it a little more, I think I do have a pocket in the front. But aren't there suppose to be two pockets with the one being divided in two and the other (I think the lower one) running the length of the bag. I think the pocket divided in two is the one the Tamron/Domke doesn't have. The reason I'm thinking this is: The description on Domke's website read "seven" pockets.

Now how Domke does this as I have found out, inside the bag with the two dividers you have three "pockets", also inside is another pocket behind the padded "wall" in the inside front, that makes four. So on the outside or front of the bag you have what I described above. Two pockets running the length of the bag but one divided in two, making the remaining three, getting us to seven.

Hope that makes sense.

SuzyView has a "pure" Domke F-5XB, IIRC. Maybe she'll chime in. I'll PM her.

Thanks for clarifying this guys. So basicly the difference of the Tamron one is not having the belt loop and fewer pockets? Is it worth the extra money to get the more expensive one? Thanks!

And we're not sure about the pockets. I believe the pocket issue, whatever it may come to, would only amount to something that'll take a small item, say a CF card wallet or a lens cap.

The Domke-Tamron only comes in basic black. If you get the "pure" Domke you can get blue, tan or olive as well. Your preference.

I'm here, finally. Here are shots of my "true Domke" blue bag, which is like a part of me now.

Front has a pocket, it's not big and if you fill the bag, the slot is rather tight. But I can fit my wallet in there, if I want to travel light. The Domke will fit nicely my 5D with 24-70L with hood reversed. It's my main kit when I am running out. I keep CF cards in the little holders. The back of the bag has the huge belt loop, which I don't use, but is nice if I need it. The cost if around $59 from just about anywhere worth buying from.

I looked at the other choices, and this bag was far superior. It looks less of a "camera bag" and more of a "stuff inside, but not necessarily a purse" bag. Which means, my sons and husband don't mind carrying it, they do mind carrying the Crumpler bags. They think those bags are too colorful.:o

Not similar at all. Piece of crap!

I got that exact bag from Abes of Maine see here

http://www.abesofmaine.com/viewproduct.asp?id=tmbag (external link)

They advertised it as the Tamron Domke on Abe's of Maine website but sent me the one you see on Amazon.

Trust me it is not even close!
