I concur with the above comments, great shot.
I especially like the just right arc of the wings, the overall placement of the bird (cropped? or were you able to position the bird this nicely from the start?), the sharpness, and the contrast of the bird with a nice dark blue background.
Don't care what kind of bird it is beautiful in this photo.

Wow, thanks guys,. This was "practice" ... as it was "just a gull this and the "Quahog" shots were me trying to scrape the rust off of my skilss after a long winter,. and just get some practice in...

I was so oleased with the results... I had to post :)

I am glad you liked them too.. I have to admit,. gulls let me get a little closer than a lot of other birds would...

I'd just love to get this close to a diving Osprey or Kingfisher!
