We are putting together more info for the -=T-Con FAQ=-

We want to know the complete list of SIGMA lenses that will work with Canon brand T-CONs and which will not

Below is a complete list of all SIGMA lenses designed to work with Sigma's own T-Cons, as well as there AF Functionality with Canon DSLRs when a T-CON is used.

Only these listed are likely to be able to work with a Canon T-con do to reasons of physcial size, however we know that some do not.

The size of the Sigma T-Con "protrusion" is slightly smaller in diameter, so some lenses reportedly, like the 150mm Macro and 70-200mm, do not Fit the Canon T-cons larger diameter.

EX lens Compatibility Sigma T-Cons -- 30D/5D/350D* -- 1D series*
- Exclusive lenses - - --------------- 1.4X-- 2X ------ 1.4X -- 2X
APO 120-300mm F2.8 EX IF HSM -------------- AF --- AF ------- AF --- AF
APO 300-800mm F5.6 EX IF HSM -------------- MF --- MF ------- MF* --- MF
APO 70-200mm F2.8 EX HSM --------------- AF --- AF ------- AF --- AF
APO 300mm F2.8 EX HSM ---------------AF --- AF ------- AF --- AF
- Usable lenses - -
APO 500mm F4.5 EX HSM --------------- MF --- MF ------- MF* --- MF
APO 800mm F5.6 EX HSM --------------- MF --- MF ------- ??* --- MF
*1 APO MACRO 150mm f2.8 EX HSM ---------- AF/MF MF ------ AF/MF - ??*
*1 APO MACRO 180mm F3.5 EX IF HSM ------ AF/MF MF ------ AF/MF - ??*
*2 APO 50-500mm F4-6.3 EX RF HSM ---------MF --- MF ------- MF --- MF
APO 100-300mm F4 EX IF HSM --------------- AF --- MF ------- AF --- AF
APO 80-400mm f4.5-5.6 EX OS --------------- MF --- MF ------- AF --- MF
APO 135-400mm f4.5-5.6 --------------- MF ---- MF ------ MF --- MF

Below are the SIGMA lenses that I know FIRST HAND work with Canon TC's
Please add your info and any proof you might have (photos of it assembled would be nice, but we will tend to trust you too ;) )

What we have thus far;

EX lens Compatibility w/ Canon T-Con 30D/5D/350D* -- 1D series*

Thanks for that Poah.. wow, MkI Vs. MkII.. this is actually a huge help and it explains a bit as we get conflicting info re: some fo these combos. It never occurred to me that the MkI was physically different diameter.

C'mon folks, I KNOW there are a lot more Sigma owners out there with info...
Where are you all hiding?

and I can tell you firsthand that the canon 1.4x tc mark II does NOT fit the sigma 70-200 f2.8 EX HSM non-DG version.

I use the Canon 1.4 mk II TC without any issue with my Sigma 120-300 f2.8 EX DG HSM.

Cheers,

Simon.

-=Calling All SIGMA Tele Lens users!=- Canon T-con Compatibility Chart. PLEASE HELP

I was going to post this in "lenses" but figured it would be better suited here. Sorry if I'm wrong! :)

I just got my Sigma 150mm2.8 and Sigma 2X convertor....

I could have sworn I read on the board here that you can use the 2 together and retain AF....but it is definitely not working when I mate the combo up to my 300D....the LCD displays max f5.6 though....

Not a big deal really, as this is a lens that will see a lot of MF anyway :D But just making absolutely sure that it indeed should not be working?

Thank you!

I have a 1D MkII and use the Sigma 500mm f/4.5, it's definately manual focus with the 1.4x Canon TC, it does AF with the cheapy Tamron one I have though :)

My 50-500mm Sigma/Bigma arrived today. The Canon 1.4x TC II and the 2x TC II do NOT fit inside the small end of the Bigma. They go in part way, then it feels like there is a rubber gasket it hit's against. There is no gasket, but that's what it feels like if you've ever done any auto repair. In other words, it doesn't feel like metal to metal. I did have the lens zoomed out to 200mm or so and the Lock set. There is room at the back of the inner zoom part of the lens for the extension part on the Canon TC, but the diameter seems to be too small.

Kenko tubes for the EF mount DO work with this lens though and retain AF on the 30D.

It's linked in the T_Con FAQ.. easy to find still. Don't need two T-Con stickies. Besides, it didn't seem to go over well, it was stuck for months with just the five helpful posts.

thanks for the info Mitch.

We still need info on the 100-300mm f/4, and the two big Macros!

150-500mm BIGMOS
50-500 BIGMA
50-500 BIGMA II OS,
Newer 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG APOMacro HSM II
Newest 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM
100-300mm f/4 (we think they do fit, but need first hand confirmation)

well it's not really what you asked for...but i can tell you the sigma 150-500mm physically fits with the kenko 1.4X, and you can tape the pins to retain some form of AF...

i only mention this because i think it'd help if the TC sticky had some mention of the kenko brands since they are recommended quite a bit, but aren't really discussed in that thread

As for compatibility, the Kenko's "fit" every EF mount lens made, so they don't need a chart..
But yes it would be nice to clean up and orgnaize the discussion of the 3rd party T-Cons better.
