my first attempt at any sports with new camera

C&C welcome. I went to my nephews high school game and played a little. Still learning functions of camera and speeds and buttons and all that. I have not done anything to the picture yet so this is straight from camera to website.

There is no exif data, so it would help to know your settings and what lens. It would also help to post a somewhat larger file, something around 640x480. It is had to tell from this image, but it looks either out of focus or motion blur from a slow shutter.

I would also suggest maybe cropping fairly tightly on the central players, which will focus the eye on the action.

I'd agree with TJ, crop tighter, the background does nothing to assist this picture, so crop in as tight as you can without losing detail.
