If you're concealing things from her now and can't talk things out with regard to money, I'd be worried about the relationship in general. You need to tell her that you need to upgrade your equipment, not us.

I should've taken bets that the first person to say that would be a woman! I wasn't looking for relationship advice, but thanks for your opinion

Hah! I was already thinking that, I'm just glad someone else typed it out

Just to follow up, I ordered the 580EX.. thanks for the advice everyone. I told her about it too, she wasn't happy but after giving her the strippers and booze line she started to see that a flash is a much better "investment".
