Im looking to get a Pelican case to store all my stuff in. i'd like to fit the following in it.

5D+grip.
300D+grip
1N+grip
17-40L
24-70L
70-200f2.8L
50mm f/1.4
85mm f/1.8
580ex
430ex.

i could probably skip out on the 1N for most shoots, also. I would like for it to have a built in handle and wheels. im not planning to fly with it, im also planning to get the padded dividers.

Im looking at the 1610, but its hard to find reviews with pictures. most of the stuff that comes up with a search here is full of broken image links.

Hello there,

I use a 1600 which is near the same size as the 1610 I do believe (not positive) and I have ample room for storage of my gear. While I don't use it as my primary case, I do use it for international air travel from Iraq to the CONUS every 4 months. In the past cpl years, its has racked up many miles and has never let me down.

Presently I'm covering a temporary assignment at another camp, and am scheduled to be back at my home base in the next 3-4 days. I'll be happy to snap a few shots and send to you then.

Hope this helps some.

Kenny

I have the 1610 and it is a great size. I think you could fit all of your gear in there and have room to spare. I had a wedding this weekend and I had the following in there. 4 bodies with a 17-55 IS, 70-200 IS, an 85, and a 24-70. These lenses were all on the bodies as well. I also had a couple of other lenses in there...4 580ex's...3 Pocketwizards...flash meter...8 backup batteries...3 diffusers...and about 12 memory cards. The case is a little on the heavy side, but I would rather have the one case for all of this equipment than to have some smaller ones. It is tough, rugged, and I don't worry at all when it comes to my equipment being secure. The padded dividers are great. Hope this helps. Once you have a Pelican I can't see anybody using anything else.

Not that this really helps, but;

My 1510 holds:

5D W/Grip attached
50 1.4
24-70
70-200 2.8
200-500 Tamron (long lens!)
580EX
CF card case
Battery cases (for AA's) and chargers
Cleaning supplies (a lot of stuff, rockets, one of those AA powered blower thingys which are huge, cleaning brushes and fluids and Pec-Pads)
Misc stuff like filters and a flash light and all-in one pocket tool

So really, you would put the two extra body's where my 200-500 sits and the only thing you'd be missing are spaces for 2 lenses and 1 flash. I say a 1610 should have you covered.

before you order (if you havent already) you should check out the storm cases as well. they arent quite as heavy duty as the pelicans, but dont cost quite as much either. Mine made it on a 54 hour trip from houston to LA to taiwan to bali, indonesia with another 3 local flights in indonesia as well, and it was just as it was when i left, with nothing inside out of place.

I'd say they're just as heavy duty or better than Pelican.
