Should I get the wireless or wired remote for my Rebel XT. The info I find on them is rather vague in terms of function - either that or they are just a simple shutter release with no other function? I am hoping for something with a lock for longer exposures.

The wireless ones really only work reliably from in front of the camera since that's where the IR sensor is. All have a lock for use in Bulb exposure. IIRC at least one of the IR remotes allows 2 or 10 sec. self-timer delay as well.
