This hawk likes to hang outside my company. Generally he chooses a telephone pole a bit further away, but today he choose one about 45-50 feet from the building.

Nice hawk pictures, Scottes. It looks so majestic whether just perched on a pole or taking flight. :)

All of the 1.4s looked better (more contrast, just seemed sharer) than the straight 400. (To me.) Since this is such an odd thing, I have to believe that I'm doing something wrong in the post processing. Then again, maybe my eyes are better at focusing than I thought. After about 50 pics with the 100-400 I don't know enough to say. But here's a couple 100% crops at 75 JPG.
