Well it did for me! My 2 Canon 1Ds Mark II's and 1 20D got stollen here in Las Vegas, I am here to do the C.E.S. show.

It was in my Tamarac bag, with 6 "L" lenses. They went through my car, took the bag with all the equipment, clothing, money and my IPOD - together with a robotics printer to create and replicate DVDs/CDs and print labels all in one (this one was brand new machine never been used)

Oh well just felt like venting out my experience here. Never thought it would happen to me...

I wonder if it hit the local pawn shops already. :(

Well, there goes your auto insurance premium! All kidding aside, very sorry to hear about the theft of your gear. Was everything in plain site, or in the trunk? Either way, still a bummer. Hopefully, no hassles with your insurance.

Sorry to hear that...bad deal. I hope your insurance will cover the loss. It is amazing how many low lifes are out there willing to profit at your expense.

Ouch. Sorry for the loss. Thieves suck. Was the bag in plain view inside the car? If not I'm sure you were watched.

You have my sympathy. I have the serial numbers of all of my items in an Excel file on my PDA (which never leaves my hip, so not likely to be stolen) just in case something like this happens to me. If you can provide the serial numbers to the authorities, often they can recover your stolen property quickly if it has been pawned.

Coincidentally, last night, I had a nightmare about this very thing happening.

That is awful!

Is photography your full time job? Even if it wasn't, that is extremely unfortunate. I hate hearing about things like this. I'm so sorry.

My condolences to you. Hope your insurance covers all (and your premiums don't go up). Although my equipment isn't as expensive as yours, getting it stolen is my nightmare.

OMG! what a living nightmare. Even if insurance replaces it, it still is so painful and it ruins the trip. I can't help but wonder if they could see it through a window and that prompted them to break in.

Gawd damn dirt bag thieves. Hang em high I say...grrrrrr vmad
