I am currently looking to purchase my firstDigital 35mm (canon EOS30D). But I need some ideas on purchasing some digital lenses to work in the fields that I Enjoy currently shooting with my Canon Eos A2. These topics include Sports, Wedings and Studios Photography. If someone could give me some great ideas that would be awsome.

Thanks
Brian

What focal lengths do you currently shoot with your film body? Divide your current focal lengths by 1.6 and that would give you the length you'd need on your 30D to achieve the same field of view. Also, some type of lens budget would help, as some of the suggestions you will receive will be quite pricey.

Hi Brian,
I am almost in the same boat as you! Only I already received my 30D!!!
Here is a reply I received from crn3371 on which are the best lenses to go with. My shoots are almost identical to yours, so hope this helps!! Also, check out the 'sticky' threads at the top of the page. TONS of lens info!!!!!!!:)

"You'll soon find that there's no one-lens solution to cover all the shooting styles you mentioned. Besides the 24-105, look at any of the 17-xx zooms for a walkabout/general purpose lens, and any of the 70-xx telezooms out there for your long needs."
