I want to start offering either Renaissance photo albums, or some sort of magazine style but I am not sure of which would be the best option.

Where do you purchase Renaissance albums? I can't find a site for them.

I need some links.

www.graphistudio.com (external link) - Not only do their albums look great but they actually support photographers who are just starting up (like myself) with a free sample album to show prospective B&G's which is a great selling tool. I had sold a couple already for some weddings later this year with the initial sales material they sent me and then I recieved the sample album a short while ago. I took it round to show one of my B&G's this weekend and they were simply blown away, much more substantial than they imagined and they said my description of "it would be what I would grab to beat a burglar to death with" was very apt ! Now I have the sample album I expect to sell quite a few more for this year and I also look forward to seeing some of my own photos in one when we cover our first wedding of 2007 in april !

www.spicerhallfield.co.uk (external link) - Is the other album supplier I offer because they are very high quality and offer a large range of different albums which when your just starting up and not really sure what to offer or what our clients will want is crucial.

No one will reveal cost prices on an open forum like this where customers can see markups, and you will only get prices out of queensberry once you have registered your business with them, they only deal with photographers not with B&G's so this is all confidential information.

I researched and got prices from quite a few different suppliers before deciding on the 2 I have gone with and queensberry was one of the ones I looked at fr traditional albums, they are definitely a premium supplier and I liked the range of albums that they offered but in the end I went with Spicer Hallfield because of the sheer range they offered and the way it fitted with how I want to do business.

Ah no worries - I never knew it was so secretive!! :D
All i was wondering was on average how much does an album (don't have to name a particular supplier) would cost a photographer. I'm new to this game and am researching the various components of what it takes to be a wedding photographer. At this stage, I'm not in a position to approach a particular album supplier at this stage.

But I understand your reply re revealing markups on an open forum - it is a legitimate concern which I didn't realise when asking :) So don't worry about giving me prices.

The range is so massive its really impossible to give any useful indication, costs could be anywhere between £50 (for an extreme budget album) and several thousand pounds (for a top of the line album) depending on the album choice, supplier, number of sides etc ... you really have to get into specifics before you get a feel for price.

Theres a few album suppliers out there that deal with B&G's as well as photographers that are much more open about prices so maybe approaching it from the bride and grooms angle will give you the indication that your looking for.

I registered with some of these companies so I can get prices. I hate having to wait.
