Hi guys,

I am trying to figure out which PP software to use in the future. I currently use Rawshooter as a RAW converter and Paint Shop Photo IX. I do like Rawshooter but am not happy with Paint Shop, it crashes and it seems the general quality of the software declines with each new release.

Here are my options:
- Elements 5.0
- Photoshop CS3 (once released)
- Lightroom

... or any combination. I think I will get a free Lightroom license because I have Rawshooter. So, I guess my questions are: Does it make sense to look into Photoshop, or would that be redundant? What about a combination of Elements 5 and Lightroom?

I am currently running W2K and can not install any of the trial versions, as they require Windows XP. I will be upgrading later this year, but I qualify for student pricing until May and would like to take advantage of it.

Any recommendations? Sorry for the long post. :)

I don't think I'ld call Lightroom 'PP software'.
It really depends on what you intend to do with the program. For a lot of people Elements5 would be just fine...
