Like your portraits better Brad , not keen on the texture being on top of the subject upper body kinda crys filter , this is very Michale Campbell , he used to knock them out in minutes , your clean style is better I feel .

Hey Brad do you remember Antonino , I was digging through some old stuff and wondered what he is doing , he was so good so quick , he got bored with the photo to paint he said , I reckon he would be doing some good artwork now .

Here is one of his very first pic to painting using a mouse , he was very talented .

This is his selective color settings to get that oils look tone.
Colours: selective colour correction. On reds: -80 cyan and +80 yellow. On yellows: -80 cyan and +80 yellow.

I like Brad's version, nicely done. I can see what some are saying about the filter look. It needs a bit more work for me to look at the cracks on the body before I will say "WOW". But still 10 times better than what I can do at this time.
I do not care for the couple photo, to cartoonish. It definatly needs Brad's touch.

Careful Don, we don't know where that pic came from. For all we know they could be members here.

Funny you should say that Kona as Brad was in the thread they came out of saying quote " WOW " ,,, thats why I brought Antonino up , I now Brad loved his work at the time and might know where he lurks these days .

Also remember its his very first or second painting , no DVDS just a few tuts and he used a mouse only , ,,, I ,ll see if I can find some of his later stuff .

Yeh Don , some of the links would be very old , I have loads of this stuff scattered all over , some are not photo specific but this artform really does need traditional art values for someone to be really good at it , its hard for photographers to get away from pin sharp and go to broad texture .

Yeah, but if they are on this forum, they will know that the "Artistic Touch" can improve upon any subject. Besides, if they are Canonites, they have very thick skin. My avatar is not what I look like. I have had 2 years of Chemo and radiation since then. I REALLY look different, but heck, I'm still here clicking away!

Vixtran (or anyone else out there ) - got your DVD's and am working my way through them. Just a quick question - not sure how to phrase this correctly but any suggestion as to how you deal with subjects with glasses / spectacles. Are the glasses painted at the same time as the face or dealt with as a seperate layer.

Thanks
