Go to: www.tawbaware.com (external link) and scroll down the page to "Equipment Tests".

There you will find reviews on three pano heads, the first two possibly meeting your price criteria. Not sure if they will handle your 30D + lens.

The Panasaurus review is relatively new, but not the Nodal Ninja. Nick Fan continues to evolve his product so check the Nodal Ninja site to see the latest and greatest.

Also check the forum here: http://www.tawbaware.com/forum2/viewforum.php?f=4 (external link)

Good luck and have fun in NZ.

For that price you're looking at the Nodal Ninja, Panosaurus, or KingPano. They're all good unless you plan on loading them up with a heavy camera + lens. Your 30D with any of you small lenses should be fine. Your larger lenses don't really need a pano head unless you have something close in the frame.

But ATucker has an excellent suggestion. You'll get a heck of a lot of info from Max's site.
