I was going for the DSC-H5 because as my sig says my other camera is a Sony DSC-P200. Two things pulled me to the S3. The Sony user interface stinks compared to the S3. The S3 has everything where you want it when you want it (the 'Canon' factor?). The instantly available high quality video via the dedicated button was also a big thing for me. The little P&S (DSC-P200) gives superb images but many times I lost shots switching from video to stills mode and other user interface goofs.
There are about 100 different things which make the S3 superior to the H5 but it would take too long to list. The two I mention were biggies for me but may seem trivial to others.

A couple of flashes and a couple of strobes. My other camera is a Sony DSC-P200.

Just a guess but I shouldn't think there will be any discernible difference at all!

I have the S2, and the S3 is a slight upgrade. I don't believe there's any camera in it's class that can produce a better quality picture than the S3. Maybe as good, but no better.
